Premixtures are blends of feed additives or mixtures of one or more feed additives with feed materials or water used as carriers. They are intended for incorporation in compound feed. This is where the name “premixtures” is originated from.

The production and use of premixes is regulated by Regulation (EC) no 1831/2003. A premixture is intended for incorporation in compound feed mixtures, feed or water by feed manufacturers. Premixtures are not intended to directly feed the animals.
